Creative Director, Creative Performance
Job Description:
About the Role
Udonis is looking for a Creative Director to lead our creative production team across gaming, lead generation, and ecommerce projects.
This is a senior, hands-on role. You are both the Creative Director and the Copy Director — you don't just direct the work, you write and produce the winning scripts, hooks, and angles yourself. You understand performance creative, know how to manage a team, can work directly with clients, and have the business awareness needed to run a creative department efficiently and profitably. You will turn research, insights, and client goals into winning creative concepts, collaborate closely with our media teams to align creative with campaign performance, and manage production from idea to delivery while meeting both quality and performance standards.
What You'll Do
You will manage creative production across two main areas — Gaming (static images, videos, and playable ads for mobile games) and Lead Generation & Ecommerce (static images and videos for performance marketing campaigns).
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and managing the creative production team
- Acting as the department's Copy Director — personally writing and producing the scripts, hooks, and ad copy that drive performance
- Collaborating closely with media buying teams to align creative with campaign performance and feed test learnings back into production
- Communicating directly with clients and understanding their business goals
- Translating client needs into clear creative direction for the team
- Researching markets, competitors, trends, and audiences — spotting winning angles and creative patterns early
- Leading ideation, scripting, and production of new performance creative concepts
- Managing creative workflows from concept to final delivery
- Assigning tasks, setting priorities, and making sure deadlines are met
- Reviewing creative work and giving clear, useful feedback
- Running quality assurance on concepts, visuals, videos, and playable ads
- Making sure creative output is aligned with performance marketing goals
- Improving internal processes so the department runs smoothly
- Owning the department's P&L and driving its profitability and growth, while balancing quality, speed, cost, and client expectations
Who You Are
You are a strong creative leader who understands that performance creative needs to do more than look good — it needs to generate results.
You are comfortable owning communication with clients, managing a team independently, and making smart decisions without needing constant direction. You understand how creative production affects profitability, team capacity, client retention, and campaign performance.
You are both creative and operational, and you write. You can come up with strong ideas — and you personally script and produce the copy behind them — but you can also organize people, manage deadlines, review work, and keep production moving.
What Success Looks Like
You will be successful in this role if:
- The creative team knows exactly what needs to be produced and why
- Clients feel understood, supported, and confident in the creative direction
- Creative concepts are well researched, clear, and performance-focused
- Deliverables are completed on time and at a high quality level
- The team works efficiently without constant bottlenecks
- The department runs in a financially healthy way
- Creative output improves over time based on feedback, testing, and results
Requirements
Experience is essential for this role. We are looking for a proven, senior creative leader who is also a strong writer — not someone growing into the position.
- Significant, directly relevant experience managing creative teams in a performance marketing environment
- A strong, decisive leader who can own a team, set direction, and hold quality and delivery standards without supervision
- Copy Director–level writing ability — you personally write the scripts, hooks, and ad copy, this is a core part of the role, not an occasional task
- Proven creative performance experience — a track record of producing creatives that actually win and drive results
- Ability to script and produce winning creative, from concept and hook through to finished ad
- Experience collaborating closely with media buying / media teams to align creative with campaign performance
- Sharp instinct for spotting trends, angles, and creative patterns before they saturate
- Strong understanding of paid social creative, direct response ads, and conversion-focused concepts
- Hands-on experience with creative production for gaming, lead generation, ecommerce, or similar industries
- Ability to lead research and ideation for new creative concepts
- Strong eye for quality in static images, video ads, and performance creatives
- Experience managing production workflows, timelines, feedback, and delivery
- Excellent communication skills, especially with clients and internal teams
- Strong feedback skills and the ability to help creatives improve their work
- Solid understanding of P&L — cost, capacity, profitability, and running the department in a financially healthy way
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable working in a remote / hybrid environment
Nice to Have
- Experience with mobile gaming creative production
- Experience with playable ads
- Experience working in an agency environment
- Experience managing designers, video editors, motion designers, copywriters, or playable ad developers
- Understanding of creative testing, hooks, angles, thumb-stopping visuals, and ad fatigue
- Familiarity with Meta, TikTok, Google, Unity, AppLovin, or other performance ad platforms
